Also called Panax Ginseng (Scientific name Panax ginseng).

Certainly one of the most famous of herbs, Panax Ginseng root comes to us from Asia (ours is Chinese) and is considered to an "adaptogen". In simple terms, an adaptogen is an herb that helps the body adapt to and recover from stress.

This extract is made from "cured" Panax, curing the root of ginseng causes the root to turn red and is then considered to become energetically warmer. Red ginseng is appropriate for those who tend to get cold easily and are more laid back. White ginseng, "American Ginseng" is appropriate for those with warmer constitutions and are more energetic (type-A).
