Botanical Name: C. bergamia

Native To: Southeast Asia now widely cultivated in South America and Europe – especially Italy.

Fun Fact: Bergamot was used in the creation of the first commercially available perfume in 1714.

How Oil of Bergamot is Extracted: Expressed from the rind of the ripe and unripe citrus fruit.

Blends Well With: neroli essential oil and lavender EO.

Bergamot Pure Essential Oil Uses:

  • Mix a few drops of bergamot with neroli and lavender oils to create a personalized perfume.
  • For a boost of positive energy blend - 3 parts Bergamot, 2 parts Sweet Orange and 1 part Neroli. This mixture can be diffused, added to carrier oil (@ ~3% concentration) and massaged into skin or dabbed directly onto clothing.
  • To help release bitterness blend - 2 parts Roman Chamomile, 2 Parts Bergamot and 2 parts Helichrysum and diffuse into your surroundings or dab onto clothing.
  • When used in soap, bergamot reduced the build up of oils on the skin.
Bergamot Oil Properties: promotes clarity.
