Botanical Name: Pimpinella anisum L

Native to: Eastern Mediterranean (Greece, Egypt) and western Asia. Widely cultivated in regions of Spain, India, Europe, Russia, Mexico, Egypt.

Anise seed essential oil is said to create sense of euphoria. In meditation it is known for it’s strengthening, restorative, centering abilities.

Fun fact: In 1619 it was decreed by law by the Virginia Assembly that each family plant at least six anise seeds a year.

Process: Derived through the steam distillation of the dried and minutely crushed seeds

Blends well with: rose bulgarian essential oil, sweet orange oil, essential oil of cinnamon, ginger EOand pine essences.

Anise Seed Essential Oil Recipes, Uses and Information

  • Lightly scent a small cloth with anise seed EO and place inside your pillow case to encourage pleasant dreams.
  • To freshen breath, mix one to two drops in warm water. Swish and gargle.
  • Use a few drops to scent incense sticks.
